Eheim Ehfimech, available from 123 Aquatics, is a filter media designed to remove the wastes which are created by aquatic life to prevent them reaching toxic levels.
These wastes and bi-products must be removed and to remove them and purify the water some form of filter medium is required. The proper use of effective and specific media for particular tasks is therefore vital in aquarium filtration. These media are separated into mechanical, biological, adsorptive and chemical filter media
Ehfimech is a coarse mechanical filter material which is to be used as bottom layer filtration. It's hollow ceramic design crates eddies which disperse the water into many paths trapping large debris, whilst creating an even flow of water for subsequent layers of media.
