Eheim Classic external filters, supplied by 123 Aquatics are superb external fish tank filters. They range from a small canister filter for aquariums of up to 250 litres to a larger canister filter for fish tanks up to 1500 litres, the classic eheim range features carefully tailored external canister filters, equipped with high quality components to ensure your aquarium is clean and filters both biologically and mechanically.

External Filters are a superb addition to both freshwater and marine aquariums. They allow the use of baskets of eheim filter media providing both mechanical and biological filtering for the fish tank. These professional canister filter systems have been on the market for years and proven millions of times. The classic eheim range of external aquarium filters is the basic model in the Eheim external canister filter range.
 
This external filter range provides optional comfort features, water priming supports and filter baskets/filter cartridges. Additionally, these filters are often the perfect aquarium pump built into the filter head. The aquarium pump output and filter efficiency also allows maximum running smoothness and endless continuous operation characteristics of EHEIM filters.

With their low power consumption these models set standards in this class. Classic eheim external canister filters can also be operated with sponges and pads. However Eheim recommends layering with Eheim filter media and tailored filter media sets are available for every model. The pump head and filter canister are connected simply and very functionally with functional clips and a high quality silicone o-ring.

Additionally at 123 Aquatics we supply the eheim 2250 and eheim 2260 classic canister filters. These classic external canister filters have been designed for large aquarium sizes up to a volume of 1500 litres. Equipped with large canister volumes (7 l and 23 l, respectively) and strong pumps (1200 l/h and 2400 l/h, respectively), large aquariums are filtered efficiently. The large model 2260 is equipped with a drain cock in the bottom of the canister for easier use.
