Fluval BioMax filter media, supplied by 123 Aquatics are ceramic rings which have a large surface area to allow beneficial bacteria to thrive and breakdown toxins in the fish tank which are harmful to aquatic life. The complex pore system allows beneficial bacteria to thrive.

As a result of this larger surface area this fluval replacement filter media has much more capacity than most biological filter media. BioMax is therefore invaluable in the process of helping to reduce ammonia and nitrite in the aquarium.

In addition the rings allow ideal water movement throughout the media, to ensure optimal contact time for efficient biological filtration.

Ideally, you should replace BioMax every 3 months and can be used for freshwater and marine environments.
