Juwel Aquarium filter Carbon Media, supplied by 123 Aquatics use active carbon to clean the water of all chemical impurities by absorbing them in its active carbon thus rmoving the effects of a cloudy aquarium.
Consequently, these chemcial impurities will not effect the bacteria - cultures inside the blue sponges. If the carbon sponge is left in the filter too long, it can release the chemicals again into the water.
Therefore, we recommend to replace the carbon sponge every 4 weeks. The Carbon filters come in various sizes:
Compact super set for Rekford 60,
Compact/Compact H for Rekford 70 to 120, Lido, Rio 125 & 180, Vision 180, Delta 80 & 100 and Trigon 190
Standard / Standard H for Rio 240 and Vision 260
Jumbo for Rio 300 and 400 and Trigon 350.
