Juwel Cirax, supplied by 123 Aquatics is a ceramic biological filter media. Like some of the top end Eheim filter media this has been designed to allow efficient water flow through the filter whilst having a large surface area to provide for bacteria that reduce aquarium toxins and can create a cloudy aquarium. This filter media can be used along side the Juwel fine sponge and course sponge which help remove floating debris and themselves provide signifcant surface area to provide for biocultures.
Cirax should be replaced around every 9 - 12 months as part of an aquarium maintenance schedule to ensure it works at optimum levels. For easy replacement Juwel Cirax comes in a filter media container specifically designed for your Juwel filter system.
Juwel Cirax filters come in various sizes: Compact/Compact H for Rekford 70 to 120, Lido, Rio 125 & 180, Vision 180, Delta 80 & 100 and Trigon 190 Standard / Standard H for Rio 240 and Vision 260 Jumbo for Rio 300 and 400 and Trigon 350.
