API Pond Care Medi Bacter is an entirely natural pond fish treatment which uses the antibacterial properties of extracts from the tea tree Melaleuca cajeputi to treat bacterial infections (ulcers, cloudy eye, mouth 'fungus', and fin or tail rot) and wounds in pond fish such as koi carp. It also aids the recovery of gills and damaged tissue.
Laboratory studies have shown that API Medi Bacter is harmless even to the most delicate pond fish and is safe for snails and other invertebrates that may live in your garden pond. Neither will it harm pond plants, affect the pH of your pond filter or adversely affect the biological filter. Pond Care Medi Bacter is the replacement for API Pond Care Melafix, which is no longer available.
